Candy Stocking

Celebrate Christmas with a little something sweet. Stuff your stockings with your favorite sugared treat. Deck your halls with stockings until the New Year! It's a great way for you and your tiny elf to spread Christmas cheer. Your colorful creations will glisten with glee, put them above the fireplace or hang'em on the tree. It's so much fun for the entire family!

  • Red or green craft foam (or red or green construction paper covered with clear contact paper)
  • Clear plastic page protector
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn or ribbon
  • Candy


  • Cut a stocking shape from the craft foam.
  • Use the foam cut-out to cut a stocking shape from the page protector.
  • Holding the two cut-outs together (plastic one on top), punch holes all around the edges.
  • Show your child how to lace yarn or ribbon through the holes, beginning at a top corner of the stocking and working down, around the toe, and up the other side.
  • Weave through each hole from front to back, and leave about eight inches of yarn hanging from the first hole.
  • Fill the stocking with Christmas candy.
  • Lace the opening shut and tie the ends in a bow or a loop for hanging.


Adult participation needed for use of scissors and hole punch.
